Victor's Home Page

[welcome.htm]

Wassup y'all, my name is Victor Smith and this is my home page. My Chinese name is (Si Ho-Yin).

DadandVictor.JPG (12354 bytes)This picture is of me and Dad taken 30th June 2004 in my bedroom at our new home in Brisbane.

There are more photos here

I am 13 years old so my dad had to help me to make the page. My dad is Doctor Disk and the column at left leads to his pages.

Dad still works in Hong Kong so I only see him when he comes to Australia on holidays.

In June 2001 I finished my primary schooling at The Norwegian School in Tai Po and in September 2001 I started Middle School at International Christian School in Kowloon City.

My family has just moved to Australia and now I am attending Everton Park State High in Brisbane.  I am in Grade 8 according to the Eduacation Queensland system. (should be in year 9...)

I used to like dancing:  all kinds of dancing.  For many years, every Saturday I went to classes in Creative Movement, Ballet, Tap Dancing and Jazz Ballet and every Thursday I went to Ballet classes at the Academy of Performing Arts.  This year I have decided to take some time off from my dancing studies to concentrate on my schoolwork.

In 2001, I was again cast as a tap-dancing monkey in the HKDC production of Journey to the West: The Monkey King Thrice Beats the Bony Ghost. It was performed at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Grand Theatre at 19:30 (7:30pm) on Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th August and at 15:00 (3:00pm) on Sunday 5th August.

In August 1998 I first danced in the Hong Kong Dance Company production of Journey to the West which was staged at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Grand Theatre as the closing performance for the International Arts Festival. For the few months preceding the performance I had rehearsals for three or more days a week to prepare for that in addition to my other three dancing classes.

Journey to the West was produced again in 1999 and I was asked to dance in it again that year.  The picture at the left was taken shortly after the free public performance held at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza on the afternoon of 10th July 1999.  My dad and I are posing with three other cast members.  The next performances were at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Grand Theatre on Friday and Saturday the 30th and 31st July at 7:30 pm and on Sunday 1st of August at 2:00 pm.  The following week, it was performed at the Tuen Mun Town Hall Auditorium on Saturday 7th August at 7:30 pm..

Below are some photos of me at previous years' rehearsals.  One of my parts in 1998 and 1999 cast me as a deer.   Here I have only my helmet as the rest of the costume was not yet completed.

Every Sunday I used to go to Sunday School at the Sha Tin Anglican Church.
Now I go to Northside Christian College every Sunday.

Everything has been going well so far over here in Brisbane.
